Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who comforts us in all our afflictions…2Cor. 1: 4.
It is with great sadness and regret to inform you that the heavy down pour of rain on Thursday night our time broke the Diecke Church building presently under construction. The This Church building when constructed will be the first indigenous United Methodist Church building in the Muslim dominated nation of Guinea which has 85 percent Muslims and only 8 percent Christians.
The members of this congregation initiated the self- help project by raising funds through collection. Bishop Innis of the Liberia Episcopal Area donated 8 bundles of roofing sheets. The two triangular ends of the building were being raised when the rain destroyed its walls.
We want to thank all of you who have assisted us, notwithstanding, we would like for you to help us complete this building so that our effort cannot go in vain. This time we want to use concrete bricks instead of the sun-dried bricks. We do not want to be like the man who built his house on the sand……. Maybe it would like to know the estimated cost of the building. The estimated cost for the building is 6,780.00 USD. The amount of 3,850.00 USD was raised and the balance of 2930.00 USD was pending to complete the entire building.
Summary: What we have provided: Foundation….1,500.00 Walls………...1,440.00 Sheets………..560.00 Labor ……….350.00
Total……….3,830.00 USD
Wood/Planks…..860.00 Plastering………600.00 Painting………..240.00 Furniture………680.00 Floor…………..400.00 M/S……………150.00
Total…………..2930.00 USD
Plus the cost of the walls (1440.00 USD) which is being destroyed by the rained
Do Keep us in your prayers and if you are move to assist us, please let us know through this email address.
Sincerely Yours in Missions for Christ,
Rev. G. Bobson Bleh Supervising Pastor Guinea Ministry UMC
